This Safeguarding Policy outlines our responsibilities to protect learners from abuse, neglect, bullying, harassment, and any form of harm. We recognize that safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility and expect all staff, trainers, and students to actively support a safe and caring environment.


2. Scope of This Policy

This policy applies to all students, staff, trainers, volunteers, and visitors associated with International Prosafety Academy. It covers all activities, both on-premises and off-site (such as field visits or practical sessions).

4. Types of Safeguarding Concerns

Safeguarding concerns may include:

  • Physical Abuse – Hitting, slapping, pushing, or any form of physical harm.
  • Emotional/Psychological Abuse – Verbal abuse, bullying, intimidation, or causing mental distress.
  • Sexual Abuse – Any form of unwanted sexual behavior or harassment.
  • Neglect – Failing to meet the basic needs of a student (food, safety, medical care).
  • Bullying and Harassment – Repeated behavior intended to intimidate, humiliate, or harm.
  • Discrimination – Unfair treatment based on caste, religion, gender, race, disability, or other factors.
  • Online Harm – Cyberbullying, inappropriate communication, or exploitation through digital platforms.

5. Roles and Responsibilities

Academy Management:

  • Ensure safeguarding policies are in place and implemented
  • Allocate resources for training and support
  • Review safeguarding practices regularly

Designated Safeguarding Lead:

  • A named staff member responsible for overseeing safeguarding concerns
  • Receives and investigates all safeguarding reports
  • Liaises with external agencies where necessary

All Staff and Trainers:

  • Be vigilant and aware of safeguarding risks
  • Report any concerns immediately
  • Receive safeguarding training
  • Create a safe and inclusive classroom environment

Students:

  • Treat others with respect and kindness
  • Report any concerns to staff or the safeguarding lead
  • Comply with the academy’s code of conduct

6. Reporting Procedure

If any student has a concern or wishes to report a safeguarding incident, they can follow this process:

  • Report the matter to any staff member they feel comfortable with.
  • The staff member will immediately inform the Designated Safeguarding Lead.
  • The Designated Safeguarding Lead will initiate an investigation and take appropriate action.
  • If needed, external agencies (e.g., child protection authorities, counseling services) will be contacted.
  • Throughout the process, confidentiality is maintained and the student is kept informed of progress.

7. Confidentiality

All safeguarding concerns and reports are handled with the utmost confidentiality. Information is shared only on a need-to-know basis with relevant parties. Exceptions are made only when required by law or when there is a risk of imminent harm.


8. Training and Awareness

We provide regular safeguarding training to all staff and trainers, including:

  • Understanding different types of abuse and how to recognize signs
  • How to respond to safeguarding disclosures
  • Reporting and recording procedures
  • Safeguarding in digital environments

9. Support for Students

Students who have experienced harm or abuse are provided appropriate support, which may include:

  • Counselling services (internal or referral)
  • Academic support (flexible deadlines, etc.)
  • A safe and trusted person to speak with
  • Support in accessing external help (medical, legal, etc.)

10. Policy Review

This policy is reviewed annually and updated in line with changes in legislation or best practices.
